Other Ventures

I came to bluegrass music in 1972 when I heard the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" LP and from John McEuen's banjo kick-off to Jimmy Martin's G-run, I was hooked. The music was in my blood and ever since then I have tried to do what I could be involved in the music. Over the years I have been a musician, writer, DJ and association member. I've run live sound and I develop web sites.

I currently make my home in the Northern Shenandoah Valley community of Strasburg, VA where I am a member of traditional-based Five of a Kind Bluegrass Band playing mandolin and guitar and singing lead and harmony vocals.

I am contributing writer/reviewer for Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine and an occasional contributer to iBluegrass.com. I am also a Professional Member of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) where I am a 2004 graduate of IBMA's Leadership Bluegrass program and am currently Vice-Chair of the Leadership Bluegrass Alumni Committee.

I have developed and currently maintain web sites for: Five of a Kind, The DC Bluegrass Union, Swinging Bridge Bluegrass, Southwest Florida Bluegrass Association, Craigs RV Park and Venice Day Spa.
